Sound Design

The sound design idea I had for Warhammer I wanted to make action pack and have the viewer feel as if they were in the experience. I did all of the sound design work with using assets, plug ins and personal recordings to achieve these effects.

I used the Weaponizer plugin to get the gun, and laser shots sound effects, then mixed in so reverb and panned it to the correlation of the perspective.

The boot step sounds are actually a pot hitting a skillet pan, and I have it set to on the track that whenever the sound hits a 100hz signal is set to go off to give each step more weight.

The force field sound was a underwater sound I found on soundly, that I down pitched and saw that it lined up perfectly when the laser bolt hit the shield.

The gore effects, like the knife going through a skull is me crushing a bell pepper.

Commercial

This project was to create a bumper for the Parent Project Podcast's new segment "Presnet Dangers."

I sourced audio assets from Epidemic Sound's library, selecting the "TV flicker" and "Atomic Engine" sounds for the lights flickering and tech noises. Adding a dynamic touch, I applied automation to create a panning effect. To complement the visuals, I utilized Krotos Studio to design custom whoosh sounds.

The music, titled "Too Easy," was sourced from Epidemic Sounds as well. I meticulously mixed and mastered it to seamlessly blend with the overall theme of the bumper.

ADR Demo

Making This ADR Demo was a lot of fun. It gave me and my wife a chance to Voice Act together which is something that we don't get to do a lot.

My wife Meggie-Elise Voiced Aoyama and I Voiced Kanda

There are some sound design elements in this demo like the foot steps and the movement of the clothes.

For the footsteps I recorded me walking in a inch of water in my bathtub and for the cloth movement I took a jacket and recorded that as I watched the video so I could control the movement.

Post Production

This Post production reel is a summery of all the skills and abilities I have earned. This was part of a project that my school CRAS, the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences, allowed us to do. They gathered an orchestra for us to record, gave us a foley stage to work on, and us students performed the characters.

I Voice the Mandolorian, and the blurgs. My classmate Tony voiced Quill. We used a 7 band EQ and did a band pass filter to get my voice sounding like it was inside the helmet. For the Blurgs I pitch shifted my voice down to make it sound deeper and added some reverb.

The rifle noises was a wrench that we recorded to overdub itThe clothing movement was a leather jacket. the bridle were keys, the Blurgs foot steps was me in a sandbox with a boxing glove and the Mandolorian's foot steps were me walking in the sand box

The flamethrower sound was a flame noises pulled from Soundly that I also pitch shifted down to make it sound deeper. The Darts were also from soundly.
